Industry Reference:
Quaker Special Risk of the South
Excess & Surplus Lines Insurance Broker, Charlotte,
NC
|
The Client:
Since 1987, Quaker Special Risk of the South has helped insurance agents and brokers throughout the US develop unique insurance coverage. The team at Quaker works hard to coordinate, design, and place custom insurance coverage to protect the unusual risks of their clients. They make extensive use of computers and technology to communicate and on which to run their custom business application.
|
|
The Issues:
Email down time resulted
in missed or lost communications and business.
Frequent virus infections caused lost productivity
amongst sales and support staff.
Routine maintenance
was not being regularly performed, which created an increase
in computer-related problems.
Many business processes
were manual and inefficient.
|
Responza's Solution:
Quaker Special Risk was the most recent, full-time employer of
Responza's founder Steve Kennen. At Quaker, Mr. Kennen implemented
the tools, developed and documented the techniques and procedures,
and gained the experience that he now uses to benefit Responza's
clients.
Steve was the Director of IT for Quaker Special Risk of the
South, a mid-sized business with more than $5 million in annual
revenue. Steve implemented a number of technologies to secure
and protect Quaker's network. He designed and refined the processes,
policies, and procedures that are now the 3 M's of Business Computing:
Monitor, Manage, Maintain. Steve also greatly enhanced Quaker's
custom business application to systematize many formerly manual
processes, thereby increasing employee productivity. Steve left
Quaker to start Responza LLC.

Steve became one of the most valuable employees of
our company. He built and maintained our then-current IT network
to minimize downtime and to minimize the time it took to manage
the network. We had not had a virus infection in over two years.
Steve's work improving our business application and processes made
our employees much more efficient and effective.
